String arranging is one of my favourite musical activities. The ability for a string section to be both delicate and fierce is unparalleled by any other instrument. I love horns, too. The French horn is my favourite horn of all. The round warmth of that instrument kills me. Put a couple of those together with maybe a flugelhorn and a trombone…that's the ticket. Love the bari sax, too.
I am very grateful for my formal training in the art of arranging from both Grant MacEwan in Edmonton and at the University of Toronto jazz program. I spent many years learning the rules and now take great pleasure in breaking them.
I also offer chart writing and copying services.
